- If you need money early on, grind the purple chandeliers in between the two shops. They can drop 1, 5, 10 or 50g each time and I"ve found it"s the fastest way to get money

- Upgrade the flame cannon ASAP. You can buy gunpowder I believe, and can rank it up to level 7. This helps immensely early on as it shoots multiple fireballs, sort of acting like a shotgun (edit: I just beat the game and 100%"d the map using the flame cannon as my main weapon throughout the game. It is seriously a powerhouse with some INT upgrades. Can"t imagine using anything else. I barely melee"d)

- There"s an 8 bit coin early on underneath the castle. Use it to buy the oleanders. These boots poison enemies and have been working well for me (edit: these become useless fairly quickly, as do most of the 8 bit weapons)

I second grinding out shards on new enemies as soon as you meet them throughout the game. It makes things more tedious as you play through but I promise you you will thank me later.

In 2019, people have seemingly given up on trophies and trophy guides and whatnot. There are no resources for where to find monsters, good gold farming locations, etc. like there would have been 5 years ago. Trying to figure out where certain monsters are located, or having to make a spreadsheet of what you"re missing so you can cross reference it, flat out sucks. The reddit for this game helped a bit but the info for a lot of stuff is still pretty barebones - nobody cares enough to make guides anymore (don"t blame them)

I"m *this* close from just returning the game because I know I need 40% more of the items and 30% more of the shards, despite 100%ing the map, and I only have 5k gold with seemingly no easy way to farm any that doesn"t require 5 hours of build setup. Being aware of shards as you go through the game will help you a lot later on. I don"t know of any way to easily farm items, as there is no drop list resource and using the shop/crafting dude to break stuff down and rebuild requires a LOT of gold (again, no easy method that doesn"t require 5 hours of build setup). I truly think I"m just done here. People are saying about 30-40 hours for the plat as a rough estimate. I"m sitting at 15 after 100%ing the map.
